HTC Vive Pro New Virtual Reality Headset!

HTC Vive Pro is a brand new updated virtual reality headset from HTC which is an awesome upgrade from HTC Vive that got released a few years ago. This successor comes with more pixels to create an even better realistic feel.

Main specs: Dual AMOLED 3.5″ diagonal screen, 2880×1600 pixels combined with both eyes, 90 Hz refresh rate, 110 degrees field of view, Hi-res audio, Integrated microphone, USB-C 3.0 connector, DP1.2 and Bluetooth!

The tracking features on HTC Vive Pro are SteamVR Tracking, G-sensor, Gyroscope, Proximity and IPD sensor! The most impressive thing with Vive Pro is the 615 pixels per inch which gives 37% ppi increase and 78% pixel increase compared to previous generation.

They have also redesigned the face cushion and the node pad so they let in less light to create a more realistic VR experience. if I have understood it correct then audio should also be improved with this new model. They also seem to have integrated headphones on top of this model something we didn’t see with the first generation!

One of the big issues with first generation was that it was a bit bulky to take off and put on. Seems like they are trying to solve more of that by making this new generation more comfortable to wear and use by using better ergonomics.

Perhaps HTC Vive Pro won’t be a massive change compared to first generation the key seem to be more pixels but is it really worth a couple hundred more euros? Probably not for majority. The first Vive is still amazing and now you will be able to pick it up for an even lower price!

The specs that they recommend for this new VR headset is Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350 processor. In graphics you need GeForce GTX1060 or Radeon RX480! Memory is only at 4GB of RAM which is nice. You also need a new version of Windows either 8.1 or Windows 10! Sorry Windows 7 users…

Xiaomi Virtual Reality Affordable Headset!

Xiaomi VR 3D are a pair of new virtual reality headset glasses that you now could get! This is great if you want to try out VR with your phone. Especially good if you can’t afford HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. The size this headset works with are smartphones that are 4.7-5.7 inch in size.

Specs: Zipper design, Lycra material, Novelty design, Immersive, Hollowed-out design for heat dissipation, Thread metal button, Anti-dazzle lens, Anti-skit design to avoid home button and Meristic Reticle to easy put phone in the middle.

Some people have complained that Xiaomi didn’t add padding to the place where headset rests against your forehead and that it can become uncomfortable. It’s great how it has a button on top side so you don’t have to take out and put in the phone again when a movie end for example.

They should also be a bit better than just cardboard VR glasses. Most people seems to agree that the build quality is excellent and it’s the best money can buy. The headset comes fully in black colour with a touch of orange for the Mi Logo.

It supports viewing panorama videos and images. It has a strap that goes above your head that make it sit comfortable. Some have complained that using it for a long time is not all that great. Another good thing is that the sharpness is great. I think most people will buy this one for watching movies with.

Another great thing is you might be able to use this headset even when having a large phone with a case. Light from surrounding can leak especially from below so I guess a dark room is best area to use this one in. Do you know any other great VR headsets out there you want me to check out?

Xiaomi Have Released a Mi VR Headset!

Xiaomi got a low-cost affordable MI VR headset! This is way cheaper and more affordable than for example HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Gear VR or PlayStation VR.

Specs: 9-Axis Inertial Motion Controller, Type-C Interface, FOV103 Focus, Supports Mi5/Mi5S/5s Plus/Mi6/Xiaomi Note 2, Hardware-level motion sensor 16x sensitive, 16ms ultra-low latency, Custom-made 38mm PMMA lens and 103 degrees Field of View.

That is some of the main specs on MI VR! This is perfect for phones with VR-oriented processors like Snapdragon 820/821 and Adreno 530 GPU. The materials they are created in are velvet and plastic. The refresh rate is 1600Hz. You seem to get a controller and touch control support.

Inside of the MIUI VR experience you get access to 30+ apps and 500+ panoramic videos. There is also over 200+ registered developers working on new things for the platform!

To use MI VR of course you would need a smart phone. And you can only use a modern Xiaomi smartphone to get this up and running. It’s great how the VR is around half the price of what you would pay to get Gear VR Samsung headset. The headset is adjustable between 525mm-630mm.

The VR headset itself is using a bosch 6 axis IMU sensor. You can also adjust the Focus inside the VR headset just as with other variants. The controller is being run by 2x AAA batteries that can last up to 60 hours. And it’s using bluetooth 4.0.

The VR headset has a weight of 408 grams. I’m curious if we one day will get more light weight VR tech. Microsoft HoloLens mixed reality seems to be a little bit slimmer. Google Glass seems to have failed. We still got a long way to go before technology like VR will be easier to carry around. At least these phone VR headsets doesn’t have wires as for example HTC Vive.

Many people love speed and powerful processors, but many have never tried something wild like this before. I am talking about the Intel Core i9-7900X Skylake-X processor!

This is a processor that cost as much as many ultra high-end graphic cards cost. It comes with 10-Core 3.3GHz which features 20 threads, Socket LGA 2066, Memory support of DDR4-2666, 13.75MB L3 cache, Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 Technology, Unlocked processor, Max Frequency 4.3GHz and compatible with Intel X299 chipset motherboards.

The X-series by Intel is also available in Core i5 and Core i7 variants. If you want something cheaper because building a system with this will cost a lot. So who is this Core i9-7900X processor for?

It’s a truly amazing processor for an amazing VR experience! But not just that but also for people who want to stream gaming in 4K to Twitch and YouTube. And also for advanced video editors that want to render video in 4K and have amazing 3D effects and animations be rendered fast. Also an amazing processor if you enjoy overclocking! To tune the voltage per core.

Of course for a more standard computer experience then you don’t need something advanced like this. But if you are interested in the Virtual World, wanna play around with Microsoft HoloLens, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift then this is the perfect thing for your setup.

Also if you are interested in Bitcoin and Artificial Intelligence and want to be on top of this new tech then this is also an amazing processor. To be at the front of technology. What do you think of this i9-7900X processor?

It will truly be interesting to see what the future will bring to us when it comes to robotics. Will robots eventually be able to create anything including high-end games without a single human involved? We have to wait and see if that will turn into reality.
