The Importance to Fail More in Life For Amazing Success!

One of the main ideas I like in life is to fail more. Fail more and faster at whatever it is you are working on. You need to fail. Outfail your friends! Outfail everyone. Every time you fail you learn new stuff. And we humans are very fast learners.

Just because most people are scared to fail it holds them back. So if you fail a lot you do something other people doesn’t wanna do. You become fearless and try everything to see what works. Now this is scarcity and creates value. Because there is a huge demand for innovation and people that test out new things.

Because here’s the thing. Even though you will fail a lot with this method you will also randomly run into success when you test lots of things all the time. It will make you very present to the moment.

One of my favourite laws in the universe is the law of large numbers or the law of averages. It means that eventually if you do something long enough you will get a ratio and can start to predict future success just by the amount of action you are taking.

Also you will not feel like “a failure” when you actually is expecting success. Richard Branson billionaire have said something about the main reason why he is a billionaire is because he has failed so much! The IBM guy said that the key to success is massive failure. Also what will happen is you will become like a kid again and see opportunities everywhere. Because now you can try out anything and the world becomes exciting again.

The other thing that I have talked about a lot also in the past is the importance of staying focused. And in today’s age that’s very hard. Because we very easily get distracted by things around us. Like friends/family/TV/News/Smartphone. Especially now with the smartphone age we have constant distractions around us 24/7!

What I recommend is that you create times during the day when you only focus. What has worked best for me is to do it in chunks. So focus for 90 minutes then take a break. Then do that a few more times. I think for maximum performance probably 3x90mins per day is good. You will need breaks to re-charge yourself. You can probably push it up to 5x90mins on extremely productive days. But I don’t think it’s good to do that for too much because it might burn you out.

But you will definitely have an edge in life if you can learn to turn off distractions and truly focus on your goal. Your RAS will help you to see new opportunity when you truly are focused on doing one task. Your adventure self will come to the surface! I recommend that you experiment around with cutting out distractions. Because in the future it will be even harder because virtual reality and better games will try to make you become an addict instead of doing something more productive.

The Law of Averages In Life Success!

The law of averages is one of my favourite laws in the entire universe. Of course there are many interesting built in laws that has been proven for thousands of years to work. This is my favourite. What does it mean?

It means that if you do something often enough eventually a pattern will emerge. And you can get detailed statistics on how much you need to do something to get a certain result.

But you need to gather a ton of data first. If you do something 100 times many times you can then from that calculate the success from that. And if you do that action another 100 times you will usually get a similar result. The more data you collect the more accurate stats you will get.

Of course it can differ a lot depending on season and timing and circumstances. But if you take a logical approach here then you will see that if you just keep taking action you will eventually get some kind of result from that. But this means that you cannot stop in the middle. You have to keep going forever. Faith that things will work out!

You also may have a bad run that last a long time. But the law of average tells that if you keep being persistent then eventually you will break through in whatever you do. It’s amazing how action taking actually solves 99% of the issues we have. And people do anything to avoid taking proper action that needs to be taken. People are always looking for some magic pill or magic shortcut.

There is none! Also do remember that you don’t want fast results and fast success. Because that will leave you just as fast. Slow progress is what you want. It is slow but it’s also real. It won’t leave you the next second you look away.

Do not try to beat this law. It’s a law for a reason. Just keep sowing. You will reap what you sow. Sometimes you will put in long hours and you will get 0 results from your work. Remember the law of averages.

Also don’t try to make this big thing that will change everything. It won’t. Keep the steady daily action just. You want to discipline your disappointment. Have low expectations. And trust me if you just keep taking action and sometimes adjust yourself for improvement by feedback you get then success is inevitable. The low expectations is awesome to keep in mind. Because even when you get a normal win you will be really satisfied.

Do not neglect things in your life. Take care of things that you want to keep in your life. Or it will go elsewhere. It’s easy to neglect proper care because there is no mega evolutionary pressure for us to care for things. Our body just want to keep us alive it doesn’t care about our dreams. So we have to put evolutionary pressure on to ourself!

Process vs. Results In Success In Life! Ancient Knowledge!

Audio Version:

Never in life beat yourself up for the result you get after taking a certain action. But beat yourself up for the process if you fail to execute on the process you know produces results. The end result of a certain days actions we have no idea what it will be. But the process that produces results we have full control over. And we need to learn how to master it.

What made you start to fail?

You have to find your built in habits that is causing failure in your life and making it harder to follow the process that produces results. Some of the common things that can have a massive change is diet, sleep and limit too much pleasure. To learn a new process and to implement it in your life it will require months of focus on that process to wire it into your brain. And then when it’s in there you could start working on another process you know produces results. Eventually you wanna have a full system of processes that you have found to be the best to produce results and stick to them everyday.

Life will continue to test you in every second you are trying to do something. You just gotta remember that the hard part with most processes is just the beginning. Actually be inside of the process is usually not that hard. It can be extremely enjoyable once you get into a FLOW state of it. That state puts you into the present moment with deep attention and focus.

The process of becoming a mature adult is a bit more painful but the rewards are so much bigger. But most are very lazy in this world and wanna take the easy way out. You wanna work hard and get what you deserve from that work. Many people do work hard but they work for someone else so in that position they are in a limited position. You have to work first to remove yourself from that limited position.

There is a great book out about this process activity how you can get more into a flow and a nice routine where your life just goes smooth and exactly in the direction you want it. The book is by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and it’s called Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience. Here is quote from the book about what can be enjoyable:

Basically what it means and he’s saying now especially in the age of the internet is that to get into flow you have to concentrate and focus on the task. And not get distracted as easily by all the things we have around ourself. All the temptations that tells us it will give us flow and fun but won’t.

He also gave another great quote here and some good things to keep in mind when you wanna get into a nice flow state:

Many people do set goals but they are boring. So it doesn’t produce any excitement to actually start doing them if they think they will only improve life by 10%. But 1000% improvement goals now finally it brings motivation to start something new!

I will give you great book recommendations in the future on the topic of my top self improvement book list.

Knowledge is important. When someone is writing a book many times they are doing it when they are in their highest state. So they give you the pearls of their knowledge. That will help you save time and energy to go out and try things yourself. It saves time and energy to learn from someone smart what to do and what to avoid. By being a simulator of the future.

The Stoics said some very smart things. And they had this great trick that is working very nicely when you wanna get more of something in life. It works in the way that whatever you have right you now you practice yourself to be super grateful that you have what you have. So you get a feeling of being content. So you don’t feel a need for more.

The funny thing with this is it always gives you more from this sort of thinking. Because you come from a place of abundance. I have been reading more classical ancient knowledge lately and have found great books about ancient Greece and the Roman Empire.

Here is a good book about the Stoics by William B. Irvine. It’s called A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy. Here is a great quote from the book about appreciating what you have:

Seneca also had a more scarier practice and that was to think about negative things that might be happening. Of course this one is a bit more scarier to do. Because it might bring up unpleasant thought or emotions:

Musonius had an even more extreme way to do this. I have tested this myself by staying away from pleasure and it for sure is an interesting thing to do. You really start to appreciate more what you have and the simple things in life:

So in a way by focusing more in life on the process than the results. It’s sort of like you want to see yourself as a robot when you are making yourself warm up to do the process. Stop using too much thoughts and emotions and just go into robot mode and do what you know produce results. After some minutes you usually start to enjoy something and you feel like a human again and your creativity starts to kick in and flow!

Results will follow of course when you are focusing on a process you know will produce result. Even when the results are low you know you can tweak the process to get better results. Because we are all humans with a brain that means if we master our mental side then we can become millionaires or even billionaires by using processes other successful people used to get to that point. We need to study their works and learn from it. And then apply it into our own lives.

The Power of Humility In Life

Audio Version:

Humility can be the greatest gift of all to have. You just gotta ask for help. Crazy part is people do not do it.

A quick example of how deep humbleness goes. If you live in the European Union. You can go to 100s of banks to ask for a loan for whatever it is you wanna do. I bet if you actually did this you can probably have 1 million euros in your hands in a year from now. I don’t have that humility and you also probably don’t have it. So with that simple example you can see how you always can be more humble in life. Instead of being the person who “already knows everything”.

Your framework in life should be “I do not know anything about anything” so a constant learning process. Now the crazy part about humility is how it keeps giving you more the more you seem to do it. An endless stream of good stuff. It never ends! It’s like the universe ALWAYS expanding. If knowledge is infinite do you know how insane that is? No end! So crazy we cant even wrap our minds around limitless knowledge.

Nothing Will Stay The Same!

The problem with being in the mindset of thinking “I already know everything” is that you will stop growing and evolve. And as we know nature is always shifting. You just gotta look outside your window every month to see how things are constantly shifting. So if everything is always changing that means you have to develop a harmony in your life to move along with nature. And not get stuck in old habits or routines.

Focus on taking care of other humans and you won’t have to worry about your own needs. Clearly if you put focus on how you can make other people’s dream come true nature will take care of your needs too. Most people are stuck in a scarcity mindset where they think they are limited in what they can do in life. But just remember that what one man can do, another man can do. Just requires that you actually do take action and starts to move in the direction you want to go.

Progress! Not going back!

Remember that it’s not the end result that we actually want. Surely it will be nice but even that will be a fleeting moment. The main thing we wanna feel in our life is that we are making progress right now and is moving in the right direction. So the criteria for success for me has become “did I make progress today” or “Am I still growing in life?”. What I do is that I constantly write down all my ideas that I find valuable so I don’t forget.

Goals and habits in life are very important but probably of more importance is that you have written down some kind of vision or purpose in life. I do this on a regular basis and do constant new updates to my vision. I listen a lot to my heart to try to be perfectly aligned with what my spirit tells me to do.

There is a great book by Stephen Covey called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. That talks a lot about great ways to structure your life. Here is a good quote from that book:

Don’t let boredom run your life when everyday could be exciting!

We have this idea that you should pick a job and then stay in that niche for the rest of your life. How limiting! Maybe we are here to just experience life and do a new job every couple years or so. Especially when we really start to get bored of something. That is usually a sign there is time for change. A lot of people are being very resistant to change. They want things to stay the same.

But they too have also forgot that things will never stay the same. They have never stayed the same in history. Evolution is constantly making tweaks and as we see with our current technology we are now in a rapid stage of development into a new arena. An arena where it will be critical you don’t stay ignorant. But that you constantly keep educating yourself. So you can deal with any sort of future adversity that may show up.

Magic Fantasy Land!

Humility will also remove a lot of pressure a lot of people put on themselves. That they need to become something or be something magical. You don’t.

There is a lot of vanity in our current time a total obsession with that every should “Make it”. Which puts even more pressure on humans feeling like they must do something “Amazing” in their life. You really don’t.

The starting point should always be that you are perfect the way you are because your inner core spirit never changes. It always stays pure and same. From this realisation that you are good and perfect already you can move from a calm state into doing other things in life.

Also you should remember that most of your problems someone else in the past have had and wrote down a solution to. So really important to keep getting exposed to new quality information Ralph Waldo Emerson has a great book called Self-Reliance and Other Essays that speaks a lot about relying on yourself to do most things and use the help of wise people to guide you forward. Here is a beautiful quote from that book:

He speaks a lot about the importance of living in harmony with nature. And observing all of life around you.

Have Bigger Dreams To Get Excited!

Vanity and self-importance get’s so boring after a while. You get tired of yourself. And you wanna help others in life. Now the irony is that once you start to help others and focus less on yourself you will actually feel better than with the vanity feeling you got in the past.

It will feel better because you feel like you are a part of something bigger than just yourself. It puts off the pressure on your shoulders to carry the whole load. There is a lot of help out there to get, you just gotta work on not being so afraid to ask for help. It takes humility to ask for help.

People have a massive fear of rejection and I may talk about that in another blog post. The fear of rejection is a big thing that holds most people back in life.

The Power of Imagination

Audio Version:

So today I want to talk about imagination. In a world where with the power of the internet can basically access all of the worlds knowledge with just a couple of buttons it is important to not get stuck inside of an auto-pilot trap. It is true that many things such a surviving is getting easier especially in the developed world. All heavy lifting the machines and computers can now do. But we still have to do one thing and that is to use our imagination.

The first thing we have to understand about the universe is that it seems to constantly expand. It seems to have no end. So in that case it means complexity and knowledge and whatever you want in life is already available in an infinite form. You just gotta use your imagination to tap into that source. For example I have noticed this when I have been producing YouTube videos. The more videos I do the more new better video ideas I get. And the less videos I do. The less ideas I get. So the more I take action the more my mind starts to expand. You discover that there is no limit.

Important In Creativity to Warm Up!

I have for example noticed that when I do 10 videos quick without much thinking but just producing. Then the real good ideas comes after I have done that. So the first part sorta works as a warm up. It’s kind of like in any sports that people exercise. They have to stretch and prepare for a game or a practice. Many times we gloss over the WARM UP part. We need to understand how critical this part is. If we don’t take it seriously then we will get less of everything.

Some people call this the law of abundance. That whatever thing you put out into the universe will come back to you. What I have noticed is the more you give the more you actually see your full potential and the insanity of how infinite this whole maze of life seems to be.

A key thing here that I have noticed to become more imaginative is that you have to expose yourself to a bunch of new information daily. To get new data and input that you later can sort through. If you don’t get exposed to new ideas or thoughts your mind will grow more weak and lazy. Because we humans are open systems.

There is an amazing book I am currently reading on this topic of imagination from Napoleon Hill. It’s called The Law of Success. Here is a great quote about this idea of thoughts. That they can be extremely powerful and affect other’s far away from you:

Ignorance Is Bad

We have a lot of ignorance that we have to fight against in our life’s. The more you learn and read the more you become aware that you don’t know anything. It make’s you more humble. But also grateful because you see that there is more to life than just the regular auto-pilot mode most people are on. The reason why we are in this auto-pilot mode is because of a lack of imagination.

Or lack of understanding that we have the most powerful tool in the universe always with us. Our brain and it’s intellect. Maybe we are afraid of it also to discover it’s fullest potential. But it can really open up interesting doors and thought patterns you never thought was possible. Being exposed to new information can of course come from other sources than books.

Chaos Can Be Good!

I have noticed that chaos in my environment for example will stimulate my brain to see new things and connect new ideas together. It’s like a plate of Taco’s full of colors and diversity.

I used imagination to discover that if you use a speech to text app on your phone then you can get 1,000 word’s down on paper in just 7 minutes. That is around 35 pages in 1 hour and a full book in 8 hours. Now of course it would require a lot of editing but you see my point. My imagination got me to that realisation.

We have these ideas that maybe writing a book should take months or years. When it could be done in 1 week. With deeper focus and attention and living in the present moment. This will of course open up your imagination even more. If you can finish writing a book in 1 week then what would you be able to accomplish in one full year?

Another great quote fromThe Law of Success about how negative energy also can affect us very easily so we need to control what we surround ourself with. Which also goes to show that we aren’t closed systems as humans:

Be a creator more then a consumer!

Why aren’t more people producing videos, making songs, making podcast’s, writing blog posts. When you now with the internet have access to billions of people! Imagine all these humans that you have a super easy way to access. Never in past history has such a massive opportunity for creativity and imagination existed as of now.

Or for example think about all these daily things you are struggling with. Problems in your life. If it’s a problem in your life maybe it’s something that other people also struggle with? And if it’s a mainstream problem you can work on a solution to that problem and sell it to others. You see everyone has some problem in their life and something they want to be fixed. You can be that problem solver.

For example you can sell digital products with WordPress and deliver them digitally for free. Bet you haven’t even thought about that!

Complexity!

Usually we don’t like problems and run away from them but just imagine the power you have if you can learn to become a problem solver that can solve any problem that come’s your path.

I heard this great thing which is so true and that is that you get paid in proportion to the complexity of problem you are solving. So if you are just solving an easy problem then you will be paid low. But if you find a way to solve a more complicated problem then you will be better paid. For example let’s say you design a website for someone or you learn how to program an app. Now you have used your imagination more and will be able to be paid more.

Of course this intense level of imagination will fire up your brain’s dopamine levels that will make you feel good and win more in life. Your brain will enjoy that you are doing something new. Instead of just the same old stuff. A great book from Ian Robertson called The Winner Effect discusses a lot the connection between dopamine and winning. Here is a great small quote reminding you that the human connection can many times make you feel way better than monetary rewards that humans can get stuck in:

Imagination will be very hard if you don’t get exposed to new data and information. We humans are like sponges. Everyone around us has an effect on our life. So we need to be sure we choose good sources. For example if you want to be a programmer you have to find those sources in life and surround yourself with them. Eventually they will start to rub off on you. And you will become that.

Have a great day!

Adrian
