Samsung Galaxy S9 New Smartphone!

Samsung has finally unveiled their new high-end phone for 2018! It’s called the Samsung Galaxy S9. It might be the last S high-end phone from Samsung. They may change the letter structure! Let’s take a look what it gives you.

Main specs: 5.8 inch Super AMOLED Display with 1440×2960 pixel resolution screen, Corning gorilla glass 5 protection, Android 8.0 Oreo Nougat, Exynos 9810 Octa in Europe and Snapdragon 845 Chipset in USA, Octa-core processor with 4×2.8GHz Mongoose M3 and 4×1.7GHz Cortex-A55 in Europe and Octa-core 4×2.7GHz Kryo 385 and 4×1.7GHz Kryo 385 Silver in USA, Mali G-72 P18 GPU in Europe and Adreno 630 in USA, microSD support up to 400GB, 64/128/256GB models, 12MP Primary camera, 8MP secondary camera and 3000mAh non-removable battery!

The first thing that annoys me with this phone is how it still packs a rear fingerprint scanner which is too close to camera. Compared to the Galaxy S8 where the scanner was side by side with camera now they have moved it to be located under. This may be a better location. But I’m still annoyed how it doesn’t come with a rounded design. The design Samsung goes with is more annoying!

Another thing that is scary is the high price of 840 euro! Smartphones are getting super expensive these days and this is not even the premium edition! Back in Galaxy S3 days in 2012 a high-end phone used to cost around 600 euro. Sad to see how much they have raised the prices at the same time when they don’t really offer any major selling point.

This phone will come in 4 colours: Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Titanium Gray and Lilac Purple! Thankfully it still comes with 3.5mm audio jack. Thanks Samsung for not going full iPhone X. You can also record video in 2160p resolution at 60 frames per second.

Another big selling point is how it’s still IP68 water resistant same as earlier years with Samsung high-end phones. It does still come with glass back that may break easy. I hope Samsung adopt metal or plastic again in the future. Because they are better materials to use on a phone! It has a pretty low weight of just 163 grams!

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini New Smartphone!

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini was a phone that came out a couple of years ago. I really remember how much I liked it. Because it was a great improvement compared to Galaxy S3 mini. This updated mini phone came with a slimmer design. And also a bit taller and larger display.

Main specs: 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 2 screen protection, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Snapdragon 400 Chipset, Dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz Krait 300, Adreno 305 GPU, microSD card support up to 64GB, 8GB Internal storage and 1.5GB of RAM support!

In terms of cameras on Galaxy S4 mini we see here a major improvement compared to Galaxy S3 Mini especially with the front facing camera which here was 1.9MP. The main sensor is 8MP with aperture of F2.0 and LED flash! You now get 1080p with 30 frames per second record. S3 mini only had 720p support.

In the battery area we also see great improvement with 1900mAh battery! And this phone actually looked like a mini variant of the Galaxy S4! The standby time was up to 300 hours on 3G, up to 12 hours of talk time and up to 49 hours of music play. It even came with an infrared port. Which Samsung used more in their phones back in the days.

The USB connector as on all Android phones back then is using microUSB 2.0 connector. The screen resolution is 540×960 pixels which I think is a bit higher than S3 mini had.

Also Galaxy S4 mini has a very low weight just 40 grams more than mini card phones so it comes in at 107 grams. 8.9mm thickness not the slimmest but not the fattest either. Was great how they kept it under 1cm. And faster 4G LTE for amazing data speeds perfect for web surfing. Probably the best upgrade from S3 mini.

I did a Galaxy S4 mini unboxing a few years ago. I am a bit sad that we never got a Galaxy S6 mini, S7 mini and S8 mini phones! These phones was so cute and unique!

The Samsung Galaxy S3 mini Smartphone!

I like to go back sometimes in time to have a look at interesting devices. Samsung Galaxy S3 mini was a really cool device when it came out. Because we didn’t get an S2 Mini.

This was suppose to be a mini variant of S3 but it had lower specs and was way more fat! It kinda looked a bit cute and funny. Like a baby pig phone. But it had it’s charm. Many was curious on the device.

Main specs on Galaxy S3 mini: 4.0 inch Display, 480×800 pixels screen, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, NovaThor U8420 Chipset, 1.0GHz Dual-core processor with Cortex-A9, Mali-400 GPU, 5MP primary camera and VGA secondary camera.

This was back in the days when front selfie cameras had mega low megapixel! The memory inside this phone was 8GB/16GB variant and 1GB of RAM + microSD card up to 32GB! 1GB of RAM makes so you can’t really play any games with heavy performance requirements.

The battery in this phone was tiny 1500mAh! Something that was considered very common back in the days. These days we are shocked if we see a phone with a battery below 2000mAh! But the cool thing was how you could remove the battery in this phone.

This phone was using a larger SIM card the Mini-SIM type. In terms of video recording you could pull it off at 720p with 30 frames per second. It came with a 3.5mm audio jack for audio listen. Something that was standard in 2012 but is getting more common 2018 that companies remove that option!

The USB connector on Galaxy S3 mini for charging was the good old microUSB 2.0. Bluetooth it had pre-installed was 4.0. Another interesting thing was the amount of colours it got launched in: White, Blue, Titan Gray, Amber Brown, Garnet Red and Onyx Black! The browser already in 2012 was using HTML5!

A couple of years ago I made an unboxing of the Galaxy S3 mini. It was very fun to do. Let me know if you want me to get more cool phones in the future!

Lenovo Moto Z New Smartphone!

Lenovo has a new smartphone which is being called Moto Z. This phone has a unique design on the rear camera lens. Let’s dive into the features and specs.

Main stuff: 5.5 inch Display, AMOLED touch screen, 2560×1440 pixels, 535 pixels per inch, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Snapdragon 820 Chipset, Quad-core processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 64GB Internal storage, 4GB of RAM, TF card support up to 2TB, Black colour and 4G LTE!

Very impressive the large MicroSD card you could use in this Moto Z! This is also a Dual SIM Dual Standby smartphone! In terms of listening to audio you have to use the Type-C port. You also get the Moto Mods connector.

In terms of rear camera you have a 13.0MP sensor with F.1.8 aperture and 1.12um pixel size! Optical image stabilize on board of course. But there is a ton of other specs as well because the camera is one of the main things: Shutter lag, colour correlated, Professional mode, Quick capture, Best shot, Scan barcode, QR codes, 8X digital zoom, burst mode, night mode, panorama, video stabilize, tap to focus, 1080p video at 60fps, 4K at 30 fps and slow motion!

Wow that was a lot you could do with rear camera! The front selfie is a bit lower in megapixel. It comes with a 5MP sensor and F2.2 aperture, wide-angle lens, 1.4um pixel size, low light and Beauty software!

In terms of security we see the mobile comes with a fingerprint sensor. You can do mobile payments with the NFC technology. Something that is being used at more places.

You can’t remove the battery on Moto Z and it has just 2600mAh. Which sounds a bit low for a 2018 phone. Most phones tend to have at least 3000mAh. 136 grams in weight and just 5.19mm thickness. Yes I had to read that twice. It may be wrong. Because it sounds too slim!

I usually don’t buy so many Motorola devices because I find them pretty boring. But I did buy the Motorola Moto G5 a few months ago and compared it to Samsung’s latest Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 smartphone!

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Red Bull + Milk Freeze Test!

In this video I will pour some milk on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to see if it will survive. I have been doing similar test with other phones to see if they will survive. But usually then I have been using another fluid like water or coca-cola. This time I am using something coming from a cow.

And I’m also mixing it with Red bull. This has a very strange fascinating effect on the milk how it gets more fat. It’s like the milk ages faster because of the Red bull. I have never seen an effect like this. Let me know if you want other similar videos with other fluids!

I know I did a test like this with a Sony Xperia phone and it actually stopped to work. Which was a bit sad. It’s one of my only phones that has stopped working after a freeze test. I also have had two iPhone 7 stop working after a Coca-cola freeze test.
