Samsung Galaxy A5 2018 Leaked Render Shows S8 Design!

Samsung Galaxy A5 2018 version has been leaked on photos! And it has the Infinity Display just as Galaxy S8. They have moved the fingerprint reader to be below the camera!

But there is still a problem here. It’s too close to the camera! So you might touch the camera every time you just want to unlock the smartphone. How annoying! I can’t confirm this I might be wrong. You can also see a Samsung Bixby button on the side.

To go over the A series a bit quick I can say that the original A5 came with I think a ceramic back and material. The second A5 2016 came with weird rectangle design and it was hard to hold. It had large sides that wasn’t comfortable in hand.

Lastly A5 2017 best so far they went back to a more rounded design that feels more smooth to hold. Still a fingerprint magnet just as 2016 versions but now they at least come with water resistant protection.

It looks like Samsung is trying to learn from it’s past mistake with battery faulty Note 7 and S8 Fingerprint weird location. Samsung stopped doing their Mini phones that we all liked S3 Mini, S4 Mini and S5 Mini. It looks like with 2018 A5 that they are trying to design a Galaxy S8 Mini but that it will be called A5 still.

A curious question now comes to me how the Galaxy S9 will look? Samsung has changed the design on their phones every single year since the first Galaxy S. It will be interesting to see what they will try this next time! Because 2017 was the dual camera + bezel-less design year. What will be the big thing 2018? Perhaps AI technology. That is what Huawei now is trying with their new Huawei Mate 10 that comes soon with AI friendly Kirin 970 chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs. iPhone X – Specs Comparison!

Today I want to compare the specs on two high-end phones here late 2017. The first one is from Samsung their latest phone in their phablet Note series, the Note 8. The second phone is Apple’s latest high-end flagship premium device the bezel-less iPhone X.

First of all we have the display type both are running with Super AMOLED display’s. Which creates a super vibrant colour experience. Apple in the past have used LCD but finally decided to switch it up. The display is a bit larger on Note 8 6.3 vs. 5.8 on iPhone X. And both have very high pixel density but Note 8 has 63 pixels per inch more.

Not something that will make a difference when you watch the displays but still cool. There is also a chance here that Note 8’s screen will be more durable because it comes with Gorilla Glass 5 while the iPhone only states scratch resistant glass. But because the iPhone display is smaller in size it might make it stronger at the center still.

The Note phone has the cool always on display which is something the iPhone lacks. We can summarise the displays here that there won’t be much difference. On the other hand I think screen burn is higher possibility with the Note phone because that happened with my Galaxy S8.

Both phones have good water resistance IP68 on Note and IP67 on iPhone. Not a big difference between the two. On the other hand the Note phone comes with a Stylus. This will definitely add a unique artistic experience that the iPhone will lack. The iPhone will be around 20 grams lighter.

What’s interesting here also is how Note phone comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on the back as well for protection. But from my experience that one cracked easily from a 3 meter drop. The iPhone doesn’t state any glass protection on the back so it might break as much as iPhone 4 and 4S did.

iPhone X comes with Apple’s latest iOS 11 software which brings some large redesigns from iOS 10. And Note 8 comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Which is not even the latest version of Android now when we have redesigned Android 8.0 Oreo out which is sad. Android users still have to suffer and get slow updates.

iPhone X use their A11 Bionic chipset with hexa-core 2x monsoon and 4x mistral processor setup. And Apple three-core graphics GPU. While Note 8 use same processor as S8 did, Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 with octa-core processor. With Mali-G71/Adreno 540 GPU. Based on what we have seen from performance test there we can see the iPhone X crushes Note 8 and can render 4K video at least 4 times faster. Which is super impressive.

A big plus with Note 8 is how it has a card slot so you can expand memory up to 256GB. It also comes with 6GB of RAM which is twice as much as the tiny 3GB you get in iPhone X.

Both phones comes with Dual 12MP rear camera with similar specs. Things like 2x optical zoom and OIS. On the other hand iPhone comes with quad LED and Note 8 just dual LED. Front facing camera on Note 8MP and iPhone 7MP. Again not a massive difference.

A big thing I think here is that you get fingerprint sensor on Note 8 and on iPhone X they removed Touch ID so you can only use Face ID. Of course Samsung also has face recognition in their latest high-end phones that works fast. Both phones also comes with wireless charging. Both also comes with non-removable battery.

Why I think Note 8 is winner is because micro SD card option, Stylus, Bigger screen, More Ram, Always-on Display, USB 3.1 instead of 3.0, Samsung Desktop Experience and Fingerprint Scanner.

Why I think Apple iPhone X is winner: More powerful processor, will be more lag free, better support, will last for at least 5 years, less bezel on front side and better proven app store.

This Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case Looks Amazing!

Spigen is known for creating beautiful cases. This time they have created a super beautiful Galaxy Note 8 case with good built-in features. This case is called Tough Armor!

This is a heavy duty case that comes with a built-in kickstand, air cushion technology, Dual-layer protection, TPU body, Polycarbonate back, precise cutouts and raised lips to protect screen and camera.

The air-cushion technology in all corners on Tough Armor case makes it so if you accidentally drop the device and it hits one corner then your likelyhood of it being saved is high.

The hands-free viewing experience is very nice feature to have because of the built-in kickstand that can take the weight of the big Galaxy Note 8.

I also like how the case has larger cutouts for the charging port, headphone jack and S-Pen port. This is good if you will use 3rd party hardware with your Note 8 and need more space.

It’s bulk free and designed to be as protective and slim as possible. With a soft inside layer you get easy to use buttons with a harder back material. This is good especially for the Note 8 that comes with a glass back that can easily break without a case!

It also comes in many different colours: Gunmetal, Black, Deep Sea Blue, Maple Gold and Orchid Gray. Many companies these days like to make the colour name more fancy! I would love to see a white edition of this case as well, feels like it’s missing. Or maybe a pink/red variant! This case is available here!

They have also drop tested this case at 46-inch height 26 times! Of course this doesn’t mean your device will survive but it probably got a good chance at surviving! It’s also compatible with Spigen NeoFlex screen protector!

Not much bad to say about this case. The spigen brand is known for being able to deliver quality cases for years now. And we know they keep their promise on quality. Will you buy the Note 8? A bit too pricy for me right now!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Is a Samsung 2017 Tablet!

Samsung has released a lot of tablets over the years. And this year they released the Galaxy Tab S3. Many people doesn’t see a point in tablets as it’s not as important gadget as phones. It’s more of a premium device that some can afford.

This tablet comes with 9.7″ 2048×1536 resolution display, Qualcomm APQ8096 processor clocked at 2.15GHz, 4GB RAM Memory and 32GB Internal Flash Storage, Micro SD card option up to 256GB, Front-Facing 5MP camera, Rear camera is 13MP, Android 7.0 Nougat, S Pen, Power Adapter and USB Type-C cable.

First thing in Galaxy Tab S3 you may think is strange is that 32GB internal storage for 2017 tablet is a bit too small. But good you can insert a micro SD card.

I never really seen the point with cameras on tablets. It doesn’t feel like many will use. That money should be invested in a better processor, audio and display. Because this is a bit more of a multimedia device for music and video.

The S-Pen is nice to see with a tablet. The only phone these days with a good stylus is Samsung’s Galaxy Note series. Now with their latest offering the Galaxy Note 8. But a stylus on a tablet is even better because you can create things on a bigger surface. You can also pair the tablet with a keyboard to turn it into a laptop experience. Perfect for longer writing sessions.

It also features some nice multimedia things like Quad speakers tuned by AKG and the famous Samsung AMOLED display. On a single charge you can get up to 12 hours of battery life.

Which I don’t think will happen if you watch video all that time. The charging with “Adaptive Fast Charging” will take a long time. 3 hours for a full charge! I’m curious how this device processor will perform in heavy games. Maybe I will check it out in the future. Do you like the design on Galaxy Tab S3 or do you want to see a more bezel-less experience?

Samsung Got a Massive 4K Ultra HD QLED Smart TV!

Samsung got a massive 65″ smart TV called QN65Q9FAMFXZA! Not the easiest name to remember! It features new technology like Quantum Dots (Which gives you 100% colour volume) and Infinite Array.

What are the specs of this TV? Because it’s 2017 and soon 2018 and our TV’s are getting smarter everyday. First you get over a billion colours, Samsung Premium OneRemote, Apps built for the Smart TV, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS Premium Sound, 5.1 Decoding, 60 Watt 4.2 Channel System, 4x HDMI connections, 3x USB connections, 802.11 AC Built-In Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE and an RS232C Control.

HDR Elite will give you better contrast and more colour detailed compared to cheaper alternatives. It also has amazing shades of black. Something we know that was good at with their AMOLED smartphones! They also have something they call perfect view from every seat. It should offer you great view from any place you sit in the room.

This TV got a no-bezel design for perfect design. The Samsung Smart Hub is where you can get other content as apps and sports. Also if you got a Samsung phone then you can turn that phone into a remote with the Smart View app. The TV will also fast detect HDMI connected devices.

Also if you would get a burn-in on the display then Samsung gives you a guarantee that they will replace the device with a brand new TV. Burn-in is something I have got on my Samsung Galaxy S8 display so it does happen! So good to know that Samsung care.

I think personally that 65″ is a bit too big. I prefer max 50″ TV’s. But if you have a very large room then 65″ may look good. Of course the 4K screen will help. 1080p screens look worse on big inch TVs. Eventually all of our products will move to perfect 4K and then perfect 8K. What do you think about this massive 65″ Samsung QLED TV?
