LEAGOO KIICAA Power is a low end device that is good alternative if you are on a budget and want Android and not a feature phone!
Main specs: 5.0″ HD IPS display, 1280×720 pixels screen, 294 ppi, Android 7.0 Nougat with LEAGOO OS 3.0 Lite skin on top, MT6580A Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, Mali-400 MP2 GPU clocked at 500MHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB Internal storage, TF card extend support up to 126GB!
What I like the most about KIICAA Power is the large battery it comes with. It has 4000mAh! More than Galaxy Note 8! What’s even better is how it’s a removable variant. So you may be able to buy a spare battery. Also comes with a cool smart wake feature. By Double-click to wake and then you get 12 different gestures you can use the wake the smartphone up! This is usually something you only get inside high-end smartphones.
It’s a cheap phone but it still comes with a fingerprint sensor. It has 360 degree recognition and 0.3s response speed. A little bit slower than the usual high-end scanner but won’t make that much of a difference. This phone is 9.5mm in thickness which is impressive considering the large battery that’s inside.
In cameras on KIICAA Power you first get a 5MP front facing camera with the specs of: 1.12*1.12um pixel size, 1/5 inch sensing area, F/2.8 aperture, 77.9 degree viewing angle, autofocus and 15/30 fps frame rate. The rear camera is 8.0MP + 5.0MP and with specs: 1.12um*1.12um pixel size, F/2.2 aperture, OIS, 75 degree viewing angle, autofocus, 15/30 fps, Flash LED dual Flash and 1/5 inch sensing area! The low frame rate will be bad but I don’t think you buy this phone to take photos with it!
It’s only a 3G smartphone but it comes with 3.5mm jack for headphones which is nice. Charging is done with Micro 5Pin port. It also supports Dual SIM Dual Standby. It’s available in two colour editions Black and Gold.
There is a great new phone concept made by DBS DESIGNING. This is a G7 smartphone concept. We are expecting LG to release a G7 phone next year. Let’s take a look at this phone! The first thing you can see is that it features an all-screen bezel less display at the front side.
Main specs: 5.8″ QHD+ Display, 128GB Internal Memory, Support SD card, 8GB of RAM, Water Resistant, 3,500mAh Battery, Fast Charging support, 8MP Dual Front camera, 16MP Dual Rear camera, Under display fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C!
Just as with the Galaxy S9 concept I talked about earlier from the same design team this one features a fingerprint sensor that is below the screen instead of at the back. Something I highly enjoy is how it seems to come with 3.5mm audio jack. Something high-end phones from Apple is starting to remove as with the iPhone X.
This phone also comes with NFC support for mobile payments. And I assume that it also will support wireless charging. Because the display on front is full size it may not support face unlock. Face unlock is a big thing that will come on more smartphones in 2018. In the software of this phone you have an edge screen. You can also see Google search widget for quick access to Google Now.
We can also assume that a phone like this would run on the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset with the new Adreno 630 GPU, Quick Charge 4+ support and Bluetooth 5.0 support for better wireless audio and faster file sharing. It seems to have volume up and down on left edge and no buttons on right edge. The stereo speaker seems to be located at bottom side next to Type-C charging port. Seems to have a glossy back perhaps glass with gorilla glass 5 support. The colours is Gray, Black and White Editions!
We are getting some new reports about what we might see inside the next LG high-end smartphone. This phone will probably be called LG G7 and rival Galaxy S9 and iPhone 9 in 2018. The latest rumors we are hearing now is that this phone will feature an advanced all-in-one iris scanner.
This ability to be able to unlock your phone with your face is a new feature we saw with the Galaxy S8 and iPhone X. And now it looks like LG wanna jump on-board that train as well! Another cool thing with this scanner with the new patent we see is that it might work better in low light conditions than the one we find in S8 and Galaxy Note 8. And that LG might make it more advanced by making the phone user track a series of dots on the screen with their eyes to prevent a static image being used to unlock the phone. Currently you can unlock the phone sometimes on S8 if you just have an image of the person. This will add extra security feature if the dot method works for LG.
LG has a new module that can feature both a front facing camera and iris scanner in a more compact form. But it hasn’t yet been tested inside a smartphone. It really does look like facial scanner for unlocking phones will become more popular. The iPhone X doesn’t even feature a fingerprint scanner. And next year Apple will probably remove it completely from their phones. Fingerprint scanners was the big trend in 2017 phones. Even the low end Android phones all got it! I’m curious if we will see all low end phones come with facial scanner in 2019. More low end devices are getting all the cool stuff that high-end phones in the past was exclusive with.
Huawei Nova 2S is a brand new smartphone that comes with a massive display! Also comes with 4 cameras in total! This dual camera trend has been huge in 2017.
Main specs: 6-inch 18:9 Display, 20MP Front Facing camera, 64GB/128GB Internal Storage, 4GB/6GB of RAM, Huawei Kirin 960 Chipset, Home button with Fingerprint sensor, 16MP + 20MP Dual Rear camera with RGB Sensor and Monochrome Sensor, 3340mAh Battery, 3.5mm Headphone jack and Android 8.0 Oreo!
I highly enjoy how many colours that are available you can get this phone in Black, Gray, Red, Rose Gold and Blue colours! It starts at 400 dollar price for the base model.
The design of this phone reminds me about Huawei Honor 9. It comes with a glossy back just as Honor 9, Honor 8 and ASUS Zenfone 3. You can see on the front side that the screen is truly a bezel-less design that reminds me about the LG G6 front. Still leave some space for the top and bottom sides. The home button may be a bit too small for my taste. Reminds me about about the Galaxy S4 home button. But this variant may be even smaller.
I would buy this phone in an instant if they would have implemented a cool feature like a Huawei Stylus. We need someone to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 S-Pen. LG tried with one phone but it wasn’t fashionable enough. It felt cheap. My favourite colour of this device is the red edition. It works well when a phone is glossy. Reminds about a red Apple.
The screen resolution on the display is massive 2160×1080 pixels. The question is if the price is right at around 400 dollars. Especially when you can get a decent Android phone for 200 dollars. At 200 dollars you can even get a bigger battery and a more all-screen display from DOOGEE.
Huawei Honor 8 Lite is a compact edition of the famous Honor 8 smartphone! Let’s take a look at the specs it offers.
Main specs: 5.2 Inch display, EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat, Hisilicon Kirin 655 Chipset, Octa-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 4×2.1GHz + 4×1.7GHz cores, i5 co-processor, Mali-T830 MP2 GPU, FHD IPS screen with 423 PPI, 4GB of RAM, 32GB Internal storage, 12MP dual rear camera, 8.0MP front camera, Dual SIM Dual Standby, 128GB TF card expansion and 4G connectivity!
As you can see on the Honor 8 Lite’s design it still looks very much like the Honor 8. But just more in a compact form factor. The fingerprint rear sensor is nicely located at the back in center for easy reach. The camera is in the top corner. It still comes with a very glossy back side. And it has 2.5D double glass and is made with high-end craftsmanship.
The front facing camera is great for selfies and comes with specs as F/2.0 aperture, 27mm wide angle lens and support for many Beauty modes. The rear camera comes with specs: 7cm macro, PDAF fast focus, F/2.2 aperture and fast AF speed of 0.23s.
The battery has 3000mAh and will last for 15 hours in video playing time and 93 hours of music playing time. It comes with a 16nm power-saving chipset tech.
Some people would like to see that Honor 8 Lite come with an all-screen display that covered the full front but I think this would make the phone a bit more boring. If all phones in future is just a display then it will become a bit boring because there will be nothing that makes the phone’s different. Phones from 2006 and 2007 was truly amazing in creativity in their designs. Especially Nokia and Sony Ericsson did amazing hardware phones back then. I want us to get back to that creative time!
