Sony Xperia 10 is a new smartphone concept that comes with a super cool design! This was a concept that I discovered on phonetech.in. It’s made by PHconcept!
This concept comes with an all-screen display. The display is massive and it looks like it’s above 6.5″ in display size. It’s imagined with a 4K pixel screen. It comes with a dual camera on the rear side. This phone seem super slim so the battery will probably not be that huge. But maybe it’s imagined with some new battery tech that charge faster and has higher capacity. It looks like it comes with an all aluminium unibody. The screen on front doesn’t have any room for front facing camera or Face ID scanner.
I would love to see the specs of 256GB internal storage, 8GB of RAM, Snapdragon 845 chipset and 5000mAh battery. Bluetooth 5.0 on board for wireless audio with the new codecs.
Hopefully the dual camera can be at least 20.0MP + 20.0MP lens. I would love to see a fingerprint sensor on the back. But I would like the box to be a square and not a round circle. Square design fits more this phone. It does look like this phone would be hard to hold in hand!
This phone I really think it could be around 7mm in thickness. To be able to compete against the iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8. Would also be nice if it feature an addon Sony Pen stylus to use the phone as a mini computer. I would like to see the alternative to be able to dual boot Windows 10 next to Android. And also better support for when I want to use two apps at the same time.
An IP68 certification would be great too for water resistance. So it can become more durable. Because this would probably be a premium phone for around 1000 euro. Good internal speakers would be needed for when I watch movies on the 4K screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. In charging it should support latest Quick Charge 4+.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ new Samsung smartphones we will see in 2018 we are rumored to get a 3MP iris scanner to more easily be able to scan your eyes.
Right now I am sometimes using the 2MP iris scanner on my Galaxy S8 and it’s true that it doesn’t always work so good. Sometimes it really takes a long time for it to detect your iris. And many times it barely even works. The S8+, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 all had a 2MP iris scanner. With this new phone they would bump it up to 3MP which is 50% more detail it can get and it will make it work so much better and faster! This will mostly be great for people that wear eyeglasses, moving their eyeballs, dark environment or too light environment.
Samsung want this process to unlock your phone in less than 1 second. As we know right now the Samsung fingerprint scanner can unlock phone in 0.1s. But I bet Samsung is working hard at improving the speed even more. Face scanners is getting more popular. Samsung first have an option to unlock phone with Iris another is that it scans for your Face. Unlock with face seems to be faster. But I bet iris scanner is more safer.
Apple is moving towards unlock phones with face too with their latest iPhone X. it seems like unlock with face will be the large thing in 2018. And that we will more move away from unlock phones with fingerprint or PIN code. Eventually we will probably have our phone unlocked the moment our body touch the device. It’s going to be interesting what other cool things that we may see in phones 2018. 2017 was the year we saw many dual camera phones and all-screen display smartphones.
Huawei Honor View 10 is a new smartphone that comes with a very large display. We have started to see Huawei release many new devices with slight differences. It’s nice when they give us so many options. This phone comes in a half the price of a Galaxy Note 8 or iPhone X!
Main specs: 5.99″ Display, 20MP Camera with 2160p Video, 6GB of RAM, HiSilicon Kirin 970 Chipset, 3750mAh Battery Li-Po, Bezel-less display, Front Glass + Aluminium Body, Hybrid Dual SIM and Android 8.0 Oreo!
My favourite thing about this device is how the front display has a more of an all-screen display type. That goes high up on top and bottom to create minimal bezel. This looks better than the large bezels top and bottom that you get on the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone.
The GPU you get inside is the Mali-G72 MP12 variant it’s being combined with a Octa-core processor with 8 cores 4×2.4GHz Cortex-A73 + 4×1.8GHz Cortex-A53. This will satisfy all your gaming needs and desires in awesome smartphone performance.
Another great thing is how you can expand the storage up to massive 256GB with a microSD card. The internal storage is huge 128GB! There is also another variant of this phone with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM. It will be a bit cheaper.
The primary camera is a Dual variant with 20MP + 16MP and it’s specs are: F/1.8, phase detection, autofocus and LED flash. The secondary front facing camera is using a 13MP sensor and has F/2.0. With 30fps video in 2160p video quality this phone will be great to record YouTube videos with!
It’s also a phone that features a 3.5mm jack with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. You get USB 2.0 with Type-C 1.0 connector.
The big battery will last for 528 hours on 3G standby and 23 hours of talk time on 3G. This phones come in the colours: Navy Blue, Midnight Black, Beach Gold, Aurora Blue and Charm Red!
Nokia 2 is a mobile from HMD Global which comes in at a very low price. It’s a new phone that got released in October 2017. This is just a low-key Android entry device. Not really meant for any intense gaming. But a step up from the Nokia 3310 2017 Edition. Let’s climb up and check out the specs!
Main specs: 5.0″ Display, 8MP camera with 720p video recording support, 1GB of RAM, Snapdragon 212 Chipset, 4100mAh battery, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Cortex-A7 cores and Adreno 304 GPU!
First thing I notice is that the big focus here is to create a phone with quality material and super long battery life. Even though this phone only packs 8GB Internal storage you get support for a massive 128GB TF card!
The battery lifetime is super impressive look at this: 1340 hours in standby, 19 hours of talk time and 139 hours of music play. This in terms of music is like an iPod Classic in battery life time!
A little boring how it only comes with microUSB 2.0 charging. But very cool is how they didn’t go 100% plastic but a aluminium frame with plastic back. It’s a pretty thick phone because of it’s massive battery so you get 9.3mm thickness and 161 grams in weight.
I really enjoy HMD Global’s dedication. They will update this low-end phone to Android 8.0 Oreo in the future! It’s great how you can use two SIM cards. Perfect if you travel abroad.
I wish it had a little better screen-to-body ratio on the front side. This one only has 67% in that category. The secondary camera is a 5MP variant. Great for taking selfies with. But don’t expect too much in camera section. Low-end phones don’t tend to be that impressive in that department.
Infinix Zero 5 Pro is a new smartphone that comes with great memory! It also has a massive display that would make some people call this a tablet. But this size on phones are quickly starting to become standard. Let’s dig a bit deeper in the specs!
Main specs: 5.98 inch Display, 1920×1080 pixels, Helio P25 Chipset, 2.6GHz clock speed on the octa cores, Android 7.0 Nougat, 6GB of RAM, 128GB Internal Storage, 16.0MP Front camera, 12.0MP + 13.0MP Dual rear camera, Dual SIM Dual Standby and 4350mAh large battery!
Firs thing I highly enjoy in Infinix Zero 5 Pro is the large battery. Also how you can expand memory up to 128GB with a TF card. And that the internal storage is already massive 128GB means you won’t have a memory problem.
It has a simple rounded design. The phone design reminds me a bit about they way Nubia tend to make their phones. You get a dark shade of colour with some gold borders around areas such as the dual rear camera and the fingerprint sensor which is located at the center on rear side. Just as Huawei Mate 9 has.
The phone still comes with a headphone jack. The Bluetooth version is only 4.2 I wish they would have given you latest Bluetooth 5. We are starting to see more phones adopt the new Bluetooth technology. Which has better codecs for wireless audio!
Infinix Zero 5 Pro has all the standard sensors you would expect on a phone. The question is why you would buy this phone instead of Nokia 7, Galaxy A3 2018 or a Nubia or Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone. The pricing in the low end market is getting more competitive. And users are getting use to get premium quality for a low price of less than 200 euro these days. And I don’t think this phone comes with water resistance.
