Have you ever wanted to own a phone which also comes with a full display on the back? Sony Ericsson did a mirror on the back on k800i released in 2006 that was pretty smart! But what about if you want a full display? Well that’s now available inside the Meizu Pro 7!
It comes packed with amazing specs like: 5.2″ Super AMOLED FHD Display, 1920x1080p Resolution, 423 pixels per inch, 64-Bit Processor MT6757CD Helio P25 Octa-core, ARM Mali-T880 GPU, Android 7.0 Nougat with Flyme, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16MP front camera, 12MP IMX386 rear camera, Dual nano SIM card dual standby and 3000mAh battery!
I especially like how Meizu Pro 7 is available in a Red colour, that’s not very common these days. The other two colours are Black and Gold.
Some cool things you can see on the second display are things like: In call, Battery status, New message, Steps walked, Calendar, See music playing, Alarm and perfect when taking selfies!
It also comes with a mystical thing they call One Mind which should work as an intelligent thinking engine that studies user habits and tries to speed up your phone based on that. Our phones are getting smarter this reminds me about Huawei again and their AI machine intelligence their new Mate 10 will feature.
In terms of music it comes with CS 43130 audio processing chip which should give you high dynamic and low distortion sound. Hopefully it will perform good for music lovers! The weight on the phone is 163 grams.
You can argue if anyone really needs a secondary display on the back. Probably not but if you want to stand out among your friends then this is the perfect choice for you! Because no other phone has this available. I like the Meizu Pro 7‘s unique style.

LG has a pretty cool display if you want a large display but not too large. You maybe dislike the idea of having 2 screens on your desk, or maybe you don’t have space for it. This LG 34″ is nice then because it’s not as two displays but a bit larger than just 1 big display. The LG 34UC89G is the display I’m talking about!
This display comes with a Full HD 2560×1080 34″ IPS curved display, NVIDIA G-Sync, 5ms response time, 144Hz refresh rate, on-screen control, dynamic action sync and screen split. The ports it has available are HDMI and DisplayPort.
For G-SYNC to work you need a compatible graphics card in your PC. This technology removes stuttering and tearing and input lag for a better gaming experience.
One of the more exciting things with LG 34UC89G is obviously the high 144Hz refresh rate. Many other monitors only has 60Hz or 75Hz. So you can see stuff way more clear while gaming up-close. Perfect for hard-core intense gaming.
You also got an option for Crosshair to show up at the center of the display for more accuracy while firing in first-person shooter games. As well as a Black Stabilizer that will reveal more detail in darker scenes to see things other can’t see. Dynamic Action will also give you more smooth and fluid gaming experience.
You also get OnScreen Control experience. Instead of navigating the display using hard buttons it will be software with monitor settings like: Volume tweak, Brightness change, Picture mode presets, Screen Split 2.0 and more tweaks.
This display is a bit pricy too. Not as pricy as the 8K OLED display I showed you couple of days ago. But more expensive than a standard 27″ Samsung monitor. But this display is more for the serious gamer or multitasker that needs to see everything.
And with the curved display you get some style on your desktop. What do you think about the LG 34UC89G? I am still happy with my 27″ Samsung monitor so don’t feel a need to upgrade now. But maybe in the future, but I never been a hard-core gamer.

Philips has a new Display called 328P8K that has 8K resolution! That is 7680×4320! The panel is 31.5″ IPS and has 400 nits of brightness and probably 60 Hz refresh rate. This display will rival Dell’s UltraSharp 32 8K UP3218K monitor they unveiled in January.
These display’s are targeted to professionals that needs monitors with excellent colours. To do professional photo and video work. The display support 100% of AdobeRGB and 100% sRGB. It will have two DP 1.3 cables. Also the final model that will be available in 2018 will come with a webcam, two 3W speakers, USB-A and USB-C port. With the USB-C port you can use docking. The current demo unit doesn’t feature a webcam.
Dell UltraSharp 8K
This monitor also might use same panel as Dell is using in their 8K display. Which is a panel from LG Display. It also might support DCI-P3. For standard consumers this display of course won’t make a lot of sense.
My Samsung display I am using S27D590 27″ looks great and it only costed me €200. This Display will probably cost above €3,500. But of course in the future we will see the price on monitor tech go down. The Dell UltraSharp 8K display has already gone down 22% in price since the beginning of 2017.
But don’t expect any cool games in 8K resolution any soon. Will probably take another 3-4 years for that! And usually professionals want to work with three display’s. 31.5″ with two display’s becomes 63″ surface. With three 27″ monitors you get a 81″ surface which is easier to work with. Let’s say you want three 8K Philips monitors and they cost €3,500 then total cost would be €10,500! Maybe still a bit too pricy for most people. Do you want this Display? I think I stick to my €200 display.
