Samsung Galaxy S4 mini New Smartphone!

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini was a phone that came out a couple of years ago. I really remember how much I liked it. Because it was a great improvement compared to Galaxy S3 mini. This updated mini phone came with a slimmer design. And also a bit taller and larger display.

Main specs: 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 2 screen protection, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Snapdragon 400 Chipset, Dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz Krait 300, Adreno 305 GPU, microSD card support up to 64GB, 8GB Internal storage and 1.5GB of RAM support!

In terms of cameras on Galaxy S4 mini we see here a major improvement compared to Galaxy S3 Mini especially with the front facing camera which here was 1.9MP. The main sensor is 8MP with aperture of F2.0 and LED flash! You now get 1080p with 30 frames per second record. S3 mini only had 720p support.

In the battery area we also see great improvement with 1900mAh battery! And this phone actually looked like a mini variant of the Galaxy S4! The standby time was up to 300 hours on 3G, up to 12 hours of talk time and up to 49 hours of music play. It even came with an infrared port. Which Samsung used more in their phones back in the days.

The USB connector as on all Android phones back then is using microUSB 2.0 connector. The screen resolution is 540×960 pixels which I think is a bit higher than S3 mini had.

Also Galaxy S4 mini has a very low weight just 40 grams more than mini card phones so it comes in at 107 grams. 8.9mm thickness not the slimmest but not the fattest either. Was great how they kept it under 1cm. And faster 4G LTE for amazing data speeds perfect for web surfing. Probably the best upgrade from S3 mini.

I did a Galaxy S4 mini unboxing a few years ago. I am a bit sad that we never got a Galaxy S6 mini, S7 mini and S8 mini phones! These phones was so cute and unique!

Samsung Galaxy on5 New Smartphone!

Samsung Galaxy On5 was a phone that got released a few years ago but that still is a major hit among people! Let’s have a look at what you get on the inside.

Main specs: 5.0 inch Display, TFT screen type, 720×1280 pixels, Android 5.1 Lollipop, Exynos 3475 Chipset, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz Cortex A7, Mali T720 GPU, 8MP primary camera, 5MP secondary camera and 2600mAh battery!

One of my favourite things about this device is how it packs a plastic body. Something that we saw on Galaxy S2 to Galaxy S5! Many really enjoyed it because it felt good in hand and was durable and you could replace the battery fast. These days Samsung has complicated it with glass body that breaks more easy and makes so you can’t change the battery.

Galaxy On5 comes with Dual SIM support. Perfect for people who travel around a lot. I also enjoy how it’s fairly slim just 8.5mm thickness. In terms of memory you are getting 8GB internal and 1.5GB of RAM. Which may be a bit small for some new intense Android games.

You can expand memory up to 256GB with a microSD card! Two colours exist White and Black. It cost around the same price as a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. But that was a few years ago. Now it probably is way cheaper and affordable.

Galaxy On5 has a pretty standard Samsung design. It almost look a bit like Galaxy S2. Which was one of my first Samsung phones I bought. I want Samsung to go back a bit to that design. It was really nice in look.

Would be cool to see Apple release some low cost devices as well but I know that’s not their strategy when it comes to business. But I would love to see a 100 euro Apple phone.

Blackview S6 New Smartphone!

Blackview S6 is a new smartphone that comes with a very cool back design. I really enjoy this brand since they usually give you a massive battery on the inside.

Main specs: 5.7″ Display, IPS tech, 720×1440 pixels, Android 7.0 Nougat, MT6763VWH Chipset, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, ARM Mali-T720-MP1 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB Internal storage and TF card support up to 128GB!

Blackview S6 also comes with support for dual SIM dual standby technology. The 3 colours that exist are Black, Gold and Silver. It even has support for speedy 4G data connection.

The camera on the front is a bit lower resolution than what I would like to see just 2.0MP lens. On rear it looks greater with 8.0MP + 0.3MP lens. One of the greater things with this device is the massive internal 4180mAh battery! But that also makes this unit super thick with 9.7mm thickness. Which for sure can be annoying if you are used to slim Apple and Samsung phones.

On the rear side you will find a standard fingerprint sensor. A great thing with this mobile phone is how the display on front really has slim bezels. It has 80% screen to body ratio and 18:9 aspect ratio. 282 pixels per inch!

Many of these more low cost Android phones are starting to bring out more fresh versions of Android like Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 8.0 Oreo. We are even starting to see cool things as Face ID unlock on cheaper Android mobiles. Which is good because it means everyone will have access to cool features your economic standing doesn’t matter.

I like how Blackview S6 still comes with a 3.5mm audio jack. If you are an old school person then I got good news it even packs FM Radio function. The mulit-touch will support up to 5 points!

Allview V3 Viper New Smartphone!

Allview V3 Viper is a new smartphone that recently got unveiled. It comes with a very cool edgy design.

Main specs: 5.5 inch Display, 720×1440 pixels, corning gorilla glass 3 screen protection, Android 8.0 Oreo, Mediatek MT6737 Chipset, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Cortex-A53 cores, Mali-T720MP2 GPU, microSD card up to 256GB, 32GB Internal storage, 3GB of RAM, 13MP Primary camera and 13MP secondary!

Very nice how V3 Viper has great camera lens on both sides. This is also a phone that packs a fingerprint sensor with a rear mount side. The battery gives you 3000mAh which is a great amount for it’s low price.

The colours it comes in are Black, Silver and Gold. The USB connector is microUSB 2.0. I wish it came with Type-C connector. Bluetooth edition is version 4.2. Also there it would be nice with latest Bluetooth 5.0 version. It does pack an infrared port you might be able to control some devices because of that.

With camera doing videos it only packs 1080p at 30fps. No higher 2K or 4K video resolution. It’s a pretty slim phone just 8.1mm thickness and low 143 grams in weight. Also has option for hybrid dual SIM!

Other good things are that V3 Viper packs 4G LTE super fast data speeds. Great if you like fast internet on the go. The back side of this phone is very glossy. Even more than ZenFone 3. Might not be great for everyone. It will probably collect tons of fingerprints. But perhaps a case could solve that. It looks like it may be slippery to hold.

But fingerprint is nicely located at the rear center for easy reach. I think that many will buy it. But I’m curious if we are reaching the peak of phones and if phone purchase will slow down in the future because there will be no reason to upgrade when their device still works.

Samsung Xcover 550 vs. Nokia 3310 – Which Is Faster?

Back some time ago I made a video comparing a 15 year old Nokia 3310 with a brand new Samsung feature phone. I thought it would be fun to compare these two gadgets because they are both super durable.

But of course the Samsung phone is a little bit more interesting because it comes with a colour display. Something that didn’t exist back in year 2000. The Samsung Xcover 550 also comes with IP67 certification. So it’s dust and water resistant. Another thing that makes the Samsung phone better is that it comes with 3.15MP camera and microSD card support!

On the other hand Nokia 3310 gives you some legendary games like Snake 2, Pairs 2, Space Impact and Bantumi. Also that the Nokia phone comes with back and front cover that you can exchange to other cool themes. Which was a major hit with that phone! Which one do you prefer?
