BLU Tank Xtreme Pro is a phone that is very durable for a low price. BLU is a company producing many new phones. Let’s see what this one has.
Main specs: 5.0 inch Display, IPS LCD type, 720 x 1280 pixels screen, Android 7.0 Nougat, Mediatek MT6737 Chipset, Quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Mali-T720 GPU, 16GB Internal storage, 2GB of RAM, microSD card support up to 64GB, 8MP Primary camera, 5MP Secondary camera, microUSB 2.0 and 4300mAh non removable battery!
The first thing that stands out with Tank Xtreme Pro is the massive battery in mAh! It reminds me about Blackview and DOOGEE phones. The other cool thing is it comes with IP68 certification. So it’s dust and waterproof over 1.5 meter under water for 30 minutes.
It’s a very thick phone which could be good to know, 13.9mm thickness. The SIM size is nano. The weight is not too much for the large battery just 206 grams. Something I don’t like is how it lacks a fingerprint sensor.
This is a phone that also support LTE network speeds. In terms of video record the max resolution is 720p at 30fps. Other things you get is a loudspeaker and Bluetooth 4.0. I really hope they update this device to Android 8.0 Oreo eventually but since it’s a low cost device it may not happen.
In terms of design this mobile comes with 3 buttons on front side below the screen that are capacitive. This phone reminds me about Acer Predator laptop in design. It really has a nice bump around the sides. The back side it comes with looks very futuristic.
Another cool thing is that Tank Xtreme Pro comes with a case and earphones in the box. Something that you usually don’t get with new phones. Usually waterproof phones cost 300 euro at least from premium brands. So it’s good alternatives like this exists.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is the most high end J phone for 2017. There also exist a J7 Max variant. Let’s go into the specs that you get with this edition.
Main features: 5.5 inch Display, Super AMOLED Screen, Android 7.0 Nougat, Exynos 7870 Octa Chipset, Octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, Cortex A-53 cores, Mali-T830 MP1 GPU, microSD card extend up to 256GB, 32/64GB Internal storage, 3GB of RAM, 13MP Primary camera, 13MP Secondary Selfie camera and 3600mAh battery!
The first thing that impress me here is the large internal battery. You get more mAh than Galaxy Note 8 has. For just a third of the price. With Samsung’s new J series phones for 2017 they upgraded from plastic to aluminium build. This makes Galaxy J7 Pro both feel more premium and more durable than a glass build. On Samsung’s A series phones they stick to glass.
What’s good to know about this phone is that you don’t get any IP rating as you get with the A series. But it does come with Always-on display feature. The weight of this device is 181 grams so pretty low. And the screen is pretty much standard size.
You still can find a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of aperture on the cameras on the rear you get F/1.7 and on front you get F/1.9. The lower the better. Just as with Samsung’s non plastic phones you cannot remove the battery in this edition.
Good to know that Galaxy J7 Pro comes with LTE data speeds. And it’s pretty slim just 8mm thickness. You get FM Radio on the inside. And GPS even comes with GLONASS support and BDS.
The colours it exist in are: Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold! You can play music for 91 hours. On the front side you also find a fingerprint sensor. I wish it was installed on rear side.
Samsung Galaxy J7 core is a new smartphone from Samsung. This edition was first available only on the Indian market. But now it seems like it’s globally available! This is a phone that comes with a plastic design. Which many prefer over the glass design A5 2017 comes with. Or the metal aluminium build J5 2017 has. Let’s go and look at the features you get in here.
Main specs: 5.5 inch Display, Super AMOLED screen type, 720×1280 pixels, Android 7.0 Nougat, Exynos 7870 Octa Chipset, Octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz with Cortex-A53, Mali-T830 MP1 GPU for Gaming, microSD card expand up to 256GB, 16GB Internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 13MP Primary camera, 5MP Secondary camera, microUSB 2.0 connector for charging and 3000mAh removable battery!
One big key here with Galaxy J7 core is how you get a removable battery. I think many will love this. But a downside is only 2GB of RAM. Which is a bit cheap when Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes with 3GB and for a lower price. Nice the phone has LTE speeds.
You can get it in either a Black or Gold colour. The GPU is very powerful for heavy gaming. 170 grams low weight. You get Dual SIM card option. Great for people that travels a lot. You still can find 3.5mm audio jack.
The design Galaxy J7 core comes with reminds me a bit about the Galaxy Note 2 design. Or perhaps even the original Note. You can find 2 capacitive buttons on the front as well as a hardware home button. So the old school Samsung layout. In their new S8 they are moving away from this design by removing the buttons on front side and just giving you an all-screen display instead.
I wish this phone came with a fingerprint sensor on the back side. Since that is a common feature most phones 2017 have. Samsung is a premium brand so you have to pay a little extra for their devices
Kyocera has a new smartphone. This is a budget variant. It’s called the DuraForce Pro E6820! This is a durable smartphone. Let’s dive into the specs.
Main specs: 5.0 Inch Display, IPS screen type, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Snapdragon 617 Chipset, Octa-core processor 4x 1.5GHz clock speed Cortex-A53 and 4×1.2GHz clock speed Cortex-A53, Adreno 405 GPU, microSD card extend up to 256GB, 32GB Internal storage, 3GB of RAM, Dual 13MP Rear camera, 5MP Front facing camera and 3240mAh Battery!
But the main thing I love the most about this phone is the well built design and that it comes with IP68 certification. This makes so it has dust and water proof, 1.5 meter under water for 30 minutes! Then it comes with MIL-STD-810G compliance with salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. So it’s a smartphone that is built to last a long time! Reminds me about Samsung’s Galaxy Active devices in terms of design.
The SIM card size you use in this phone is Nano SIM. Which is the smallest variant for now. The weight is pretty heavy for a nice feel in hand, it’s 230 grams heavy. This is a phone that comes with the old microUSB 2.0 connector. In battery charge you get Quick Charge 2.0. It’s nice to see it’s using Bluetooth 4.2 instead of just 4.0.
On the front side of the smartphone you get a fingerprint sensor mounted. I wish the battery was removable. To bring a spare battery out in the woods would be a great feature. Something few phones offer these days.
DuraForce Pro still packs 3.5mm audio jack. That comes with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. It’s only available in a Black colour. The battery will last for up to 480 hours over 3G in standby and 19 hours talk time over 3G. It’s strange how it doesn’t come with an FM Radio app.
FOXIN company has a very cool iPhone 7 Plus battery case that even comes with a kickstand. It has a neat design. This case with the rear camera cutout reminds me about the HETP iPhone X battery case. Let’s dive deeper into what you get.
Main specs: 3700mAh Battery, Battery Charging case, Built in rear kickstand, Magnet car holder built into the kickstand and Black colour!
The iPhone 7 Plus was Apple’s first phone that came with a dual rear camera. The bad thing with this rear camera is that it’s protruding and takes up a lot of space. It makes the device a bit unsteady. But with this case you will not have that problem anymore. Because it can rest on kickstand or stand up with it. Which will be great for viewing movies or TV shows on the go. Great for airplane travels or train travels or even in a bus.
On the bottom rear side you will find a blue Power LED Indicator light. Great for when you need to know the current status on the external battery. The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a built-in 2900mAh battery which is more than you get in iPhone X. 2900mAh + This battery case with 3700mAh you will get 6600mAh in total!
Which is like twice the power of what you would get in a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone. I love the sleek design on the kickstand with it’s rounded details. This is great to use in a car when you need to use the GPS and take advantage of the magnetic kickstand.
The case even comes with some side protection with 360 degree shock absorption. So it’s not just a battery case but a protective case as well. What I also enjoy with the case is that it exist for newer and older iPhone’s too. Like iPhone 6 and iPhone 8!
