Xiaomi Mi A2 is a new smartphone that looks like Xiaomi’s iPhone X copycat phone. Many Android phone companies are copying Apple’s latest devices. This one comes with the rear traffic light design.
Main specs: 5.99” Display with LTPS IPS LCD screen, 1080×2160 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, MIUI 9.5 UX Skin on top of Android, Hybrid Dual SIM, Front Glass, Aluminium Body, 7.3mm Thickness, Android 8.1 Oreo, Snapdragon 660 Chipset, Adreno 512 GPU, Octa-core processor with 4×2.2GHz Kryo 260 and 4×1.8GHz Kryo 260, microSD card extend up to 256GB, 128GB Internal storage, Dual Main camera 12MP + 20MP, Secondary 20MP Camera and Bluetooth 5.0!
The first thing that strikes me with this device is the amazing beauty in terms of design. They really did a good job on that front. It’s a bit boring how it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm earphone jack. This might be an issue for some. The battery comes with 3010mAh which is cool for a low cost Android device. Not as cheap as Xiaomi Redmi 5 but not as high as Galaxy A5 2017.
The screen size is of course super big. Maybe too big for majority. I do not like the large bezels you can see on the front of the smartphone. It reminds me about a Sony Xperia device. The weight is pretty low only 168 grams. I really enjoy the Red colour edition. You also get the regular Apple colours like Pink or Gold. Then we have a Blue edition. The USB is 2.0 and using new Type-C.
Xiaomi may be the new Samsung when it comes to low cost Android devices. Since Samsung is starting to raise their price on their phone lineup. I would love for Apple to release some low cost iPhone’s. Perhaps a new iPhone for just 150 euro. Perhaps they will have to do this in the future to be able to compete with cheap Android smartphones. Especially when cost of production keeps going down.
