Kyocera has a new smartphone. This is a budget variant. It’s called the DuraForce Pro E6820! This is a durable smartphone. Let’s dive into the specs.
Main specs: 5.0 Inch Display, IPS screen type, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Snapdragon 617 Chipset, Octa-core processor 4x 1.5GHz clock speed Cortex-A53 and 4×1.2GHz clock speed Cortex-A53, Adreno 405 GPU, microSD card extend up to 256GB, 32GB Internal storage, 3GB of RAM, Dual 13MP Rear camera, 5MP Front facing camera and 3240mAh Battery!
But the main thing I love the most about this phone is the well built design and that it comes with IP68 certification. This makes so it has dust and water proof, 1.5 meter under water for 30 minutes! Then it comes with MIL-STD-810G compliance with salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. So it’s a smartphone that is built to last a long time! Reminds me about Samsung’s Galaxy Active devices in terms of design.
The SIM card size you use in this phone is Nano SIM. Which is the smallest variant for now. The weight is pretty heavy for a nice feel in hand, it’s 230 grams heavy. This is a phone that comes with the old microUSB 2.0 connector. In battery charge you get Quick Charge 2.0. It’s nice to see it’s using Bluetooth 4.2 instead of just 4.0.
On the front side of the smartphone you get a fingerprint sensor mounted. I wish the battery was removable. To bring a spare battery out in the woods would be a great feature. Something few phones offer these days.
DuraForce Pro still packs 3.5mm audio jack. That comes with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. It’s only available in a Black colour. The battery will last for up to 480 hours over 3G in standby and 19 hours talk time over 3G. It’s strange how it doesn’t come with an FM Radio app.
