ZTE Nubia Z17S is one of the largest ZTE phones you can buy. It has almost a 6 inch display! This phone has same chipset as Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 5. Let’s take a deeper look!
Main specs: 5.73 Inch display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB Internal storage, Snapdragon 835 Chipset, Octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz, 4G Connectivity and Blue colour.
Nubia Z17S is running on Nubia UI 5.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. I don’t like how it doesn’t have a storage expand option. This is something I have seen with many 128GB phones I don’t understand why it’s so hard to just put a tiny expand card option to be available. I love the amount of RAM inside it’s really crazy much. ZUK phone lovers will like this variant!
The GPU is fast Adreno 540 clocked at 710MHz that will make you run any Android game with amazing performance. You will run the games with Galaxy Note size display and massive 2040×1080 pixel resolution display. It’s an LTPS TFT display with gorilla glass protection.
You get 4 cameras on the phone. Dual cameras on front and back. The front is 5.0MP + 5.0MP with f/2.2 aperture, 79.9 degree angle and 3-element lens.
The rear camera is 12.0MP + 23.0MP with f/1.8 aperture, 6-element lens and sapphire glass lens. It’s only coming with Bluetooth 4.1 and sadly doesn’t seem to feature 3.5mm audio jack. Only a Type-C to AUDIO cable. You don’t want to use adapters when listening to audio.
Things are becoming more complicated with phones. Same as the problem of removing the option to replace batteries and plastic covers. These days we are stuck with glass backs and unremovable batteries! Less freedom to the consumer. Feels like we are going back in time.
Nubia Z17S weigh 170 grams and is 8.5mm in thickness. The battery with 3100mAh is not super massive either. But I like how stylish and classy the phone looks. It can compete against Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X design for 300 euro less in price! But I rather go with Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro instead of this phone.
