We have a new fresh rumour now coming out from South Korea.
So it seems like Samsung may be adjusting their launch schedule of new Samsung Galaxy S9 because of the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 will be officially unveiled on September 12. It will be 10 years since the original iPhone and it’s expected to feature and edge-to-edge display.
Samsung’s division Samsung Display will start to ship out their OLED panels for the S9 two months earlier compared to last year. In November. And after the display panels have been shipped out it usually takes 2-3 months for the whole phone to complete. Which may mean we will see the Samsung Galaxy S9 be available for purchase in February 2018.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to feature latest Snapdragon 845 and maybe the Dual Rear camera that we saw in Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Something I really hope they have fixed in S9 is a better location on the fingerprint sensor. It would also be nice if they stopped using glass on the back.
Something I feel that Samsung has been struggling with lately is the quality of their phones. Usually they have started to break down pretty fast a few months in and some software issue or hardware issue starts to show up. For my current Galaxy series they usually can overheat. And the software on my Galaxy S8 is usually not performing as good as it should.
And you also have the issue with Samsung constantly raising their prices and cause confusion. The new Galaxy Note is expected to cost 1,000 dollars. Which is too much for even a high end device. It makes it so few will be able to try it out. That was not how the note series started on the market a few years ago. Yes Apple could pull it off but Apple’s phones last 5 years. Samsung phones doesn’t.
Also I really hope they remove Bixby on the Galaxy S9. That extra button on the phone for an assistant just seem silly to me. It’s better to just have it as an app on the phone. Instead of a hardware button you accidentally may tap when you just wanna change the volume on the phone. It happens to me constantly by accident that Bixby pops up on S8. It’s annoying

LG has finally made their brand new high-end phone official. It’s called the V30. It’s the first V phone that provides IP68 certification for protection against water and dust. It features the high-end specs you want from a 2017 device. Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of Storage and 3,300mAh Battery.
It also comes with a 18:9 6-Inch P-OLED Display, it has a curved display on the back that reminds us about the Samsung Galaxy S7 back curve. Some other things that you no longer have is a second display that you had in previous V phones. Now you instead have a floating bar in the UI that can provide you with some quick features. The phone also comes with latest Bluetooth 5.0 with AptX HD. It also features a heat pipe and cooling pad to try to remain the device cool under pressure.
The rear camera it comes with is a Dual 16MP f/1.6 OIS camera 71-degree field of view + 13MP f/1.9 camera 120-degree field of view (No AF on second). The front facing camera is 5MP f/2.2. LG has added a Crystal Clear Lens they say will provide better images and say it can provide the “Brightest mobile camera”. LG is trying to market this phone to video lovers. It comes with software features optimised for that: Cine Video, Point Zoom and Cine Log. Which will make you be able to add special effects and tweak your footage.
Audio will also be great in the V30. It comes with Hi-Fi Quad DAC tuned by B&O Play. It will also come with digital filters so you can tweak your audio to your taste. Hi-Fi Audio Recording will also ensure if you are trying to record sound or watch video that you also will get great performance. It also will have support for MQA which allows streaming high-res audio with a smaller file size. With same quality.
The phone will come in four different colours: Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. It will be released in South Korea on September 21st. When the phone will be available in other markets we don’t really know right now. And is this phone enough of an upgrade compared to the LG G6 that is also a good question. The LG G6 is already offering you a lot.
