The Kirin 970 is an 8-core CPU with a 12-core GPU. It can detect images very fast! Huawei did a benchmark image recognition test. The 970 could process 2,000 images per minute! Which is faster than what we have seen from other chips on the market.
It has 5.5 billion transistors. It also features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Huawei wants to combine Cloud AI with On-Device AI to provide a better phone experience. The 970 will be able to detect and analyse sensor data. And then send it to the cloud fast. Both of these things analysing things on a local level then send it to the cloud will create a great new era for Mobile AI.
Huawei Mate 10 is a new phone that will compete against Galaxy Note 8, iPhone 8 and LG V30. It will be launched on October 16 in Munich. It’s expected to feature a display with little bezels and resolution of 2160×1080. 6GB or RAM and 64GB internal storage is expected. Also seems like it won’t get launched with latest Android 8.0 Oreo but that it will feature Android 7.1 Nougat. With EMUI skin on top.
There is a picture leaked that may be Huawei Mate 10. And it shows us that it doesn’t have any home button. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a home button and a fingerprint sensor built into that button. But I prefer the standard Huawei Mate 9 with fingerprint on the back below the camera. Just like LG G6 is having it. But I think Huawei has implemented it better because it goes in like a dimple so easier to find.
So we have speculations that Huawei Mate 10 may feature an on-screen fingerprint sensor. This is something we heard rumours about with new iPhone 8 but looks like new iPhone won’t feature any fingerprint sensor at all.
