GIGABYTE has unveiled a new compact cute teddy bear graphics card in size. It’s the new GeForce GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G. It’s 169mm long. It has a single 90mm fan configuration. Triple heat pipe cooling.
The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Mini was also a compact graphics card at 211mm in length. But this card is 42mm shorter than that! The overclock mode is not offering that much. The boost clock: Gaming Mode is 1733MHz and OC Mode is just 38MHz higher then that. The Base Clock while give you 1607MHz Gaming Mode and just 25MHz extra OC Mode.
The memory is 8GB GDDR5X, the power connector is an 8-pin connector. And the outputs are 1x HDMI, 3x DisplayPort and 1x DVI port . We currently don’t know what the price of this card will be or when it will be available!
NVIDIA introduced GTX 1080 series last year in May. GIGABYTE also has a larger GeForce GTX 1080 card. The G1 Gaming 8G. That card has support up to 8K display @60Hz. Compared to the 1080 Mini that only has 1 fan the G1 Gaming 8G has 3 fans. Has well has One-click Super overclocking, Smart Power LED indicators, Stylish Metal Back Plate and with Xtreme Engine you can customise a lot of things.
Hopefully this one 90mm fan on the 1080 Mini card will perform well and make the card quiet. But it probably can’t compare with the larger brother with 3 fans. Other mini cards that GIGABYTE has released has been GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 Mini.
Other companies are also making their customised GTX 1080 cards. Companies like MSI, EVGA, ASUS, Inno3D and PNY. But their cards are at this moment larger and more bulky. Maybe they will jump on the compact train as well. Seems like most tech is getting smaller these days.
