So there is a new game out which cost around €3-5 euro. It’s called Nexomon! It kind of reminds about a Pokemon game. You are this character running around and captures different Nexomon animals. You follow a story mode sort of like Final Fantasy. You fight in battles to capture new nexomons. And then you can heal your nexomons using items.
You have to be into journey games to play this because there are many menus of storytelling you can’t skip. You have something they call the Nexopad with a collection of 300 nexomons you can capture and find inside the game. The nexomons at the beginning of the game are usually hiding in the grass. You can see it moving!
The game has very nice cartoon graphics and audio. When you win a battle against another nexomon you gain experience and coins. With this you level up your own nexomons.
As a new player you are being called a tamer and get told it’s dangerous to walk outside town. You can talk with various people on your journey around the game. Sometimes you get rewards from these people like 300 coins. Sometimes they even challenge you to a nexomon battle.
When you are in battle you will loose health and stamina when you get attacked. But you can fill it up again with items in your bag. Like potions and ether. You have 4 different skills you can attack with. When you are new in the game only 3 is available and sometimes 2.
Sometimes when you attack certain nexomons you will *miss*. Because that nexomon has protection against that attack, you will have to use another. And sometimes when you win versus one nexomon they might have another one show up! Because in a battle you can use multiple nexomons if you have. You usually gain more experience the more you win. And coins.
And when you level up your HP, Stamina, Attack, Defence and Speed goes up! Sometimes you will see dramatic scenes in the game like a house damaged. And dramatic story music. Which shows that it’s a quality game trying to make the storyline more engaging.
Sometimes you will be rewarded a NexoBox. In those you will find a rare nexomon. After you open it you can add the nexomon to your party. And it will join you in future battles. You have different houses where you have nexobox storages. In here you can deposit nexomons or withdraw them. You also have nexostores in many cities where you can by nexoproducts. Things as nexotrap, potion, ether, elixir, anti burn, anti poison, anti freeze, anti paralyze, anti bind, anti sleep & anti confusion. You use the coins to buy, coins you gain from winning battles against nexomons.
Sometimes you get to hear secrets or tricks from talking to random people. Like the coolest nexomon is in the eastern cave!
One of the first story modes is you have to go to a bodybuilder called Ivan to find more information about a nexolord. The most powerful tamer of nexomons. You get to learn about champions after you beat Ivan. Which are the inner circle of a nexolord. Ivan was just an overseer.
You have different environments you play this game in sometimes you explore a cave and harder enemies. Then you have to go back and level up your nexomons by going into easier battles to win easier experience and coins. It seems like you can have up to 6 nexomons in your party.
And yes the game has premium shop for in-app purchase but it doesn’t feel as spammy as for example’s EA’s games. First you can buy for real money Diamond currency, NexoTraps, Avatars, Pets & Other Items. You can also open up golden nexobox or standard for diamonds to receive super rare nexomon.
In the nexopad profile you can see your tamer name, play time, coins, diamonds, nexomonds found, support code. You can also see your avatar and change it’s design.
The 3 games this reminds me about is Pokemon GO, Final Fantasy 3 and Lego Rock Raiders. I can see myself play it for long hours. The nice graphics and smooth gameplay on iPhone 7 makes it interesting. The fast talking menu’s are also very enjoyable.
One thing that can be a little bit annoying in a game like this is too many battles and leveling up. It can become very repetitive. And if you are stuck in a cave and need to get out you can have annoying enemies popup in your path.
The game also has some special features like iCloud support for backup data on all devices to play both iPhone, iPod and iPad support! You can get exclusive nexomon iMessage stickers. 8 legendary nexomons. 9 different colorful and vibrant regions. 100% animated monsters for enjoying battles. High quality gaming experience!
The overseers in the game guard cities and various places. They have tamers below them that wanna engage in quick battles. To one time themselves maybe become an overseer.
What happens when your party loses and all your nexomons have a health of zero is it becomes game over. From this menu you can either load checkpoint or load game. While you play the game you have the option to go in and save/load.
Be sure that you level up your nexomons a lot in easy battles first before you go into a dangerous cave or on an adventure. So you are ready for the higher level battles. If not then you might have to restart from far away back in the game. So remember to save and plan your trips for optimal gaming experience.
In harder areas of the game you usually become attacked or meet challenges just by walking on the standard path. But in the more safer area you only get attacked while you are in the grass. And the easier place have mostly one nexomon in battle. So you only have to defeat 1 to win! But in harder areas there can be up to 6 nexomons in one battle!
Whenever you want to capture a new nexomon in battle you click on the red and grey nexotrap at the bottom center of the screen! You have to buy these from the nexostore. If you weaken the enemy a bit first I’m sure it will be easier to capture him and add him into your collection. A quick look at your opponent right side of the screen will display under his health bar if he is a common nexomon or a rare nexomon!
Overall I really enjoy this game. This is a story game where you get so much value. So even when it’s a paid app with some in-app purchase options it’s highly enjoyable and worth it. Let me know if you find out about any other quality games you want me to check out!
